Ironfoundersson's Brewery: A brief history (part two)

Located in the green and verdant lands bordering The Moot is a small community of Dwarven brewers and craftsmen. At the centre of the settlement is Ironfoundersson's Brewery, home of Ironfoundersson's Unbeatable Ale. Founded by Brag Ironfoundersson in the imperial year 1227, the brewery has passed through successive generations of the Ironfoundersson family to it's current incumbent, Snorri Ironfoundersson.

THE SIGN OF THE GOLDEN ANVIL:

The Sign of The Golden Anvil (Bryn Grong) is a tavern much favoured by Dwarven warriors and beer convoy guards. In times of trouble, they march forth under their tavern sign, bearing their ancient family axes, and time honoured shields.

THE SIGN OF THE MENDED DRUM:

The Sign of The Mended Drum (Repa Krum) is a tavern much favoured by Dwarven warriors and beer convoy guards. In times of trouble, they march forth under their tavern sign, bearing their ancient family axes, and time honoured shields. The patrons of these two taverns form the warrior core of the armies of clan Ironfoundersson. There is an ancient and bitter rivalry between the two taverns, each claiming to produce the greater warriors. In truth, there is little to tell them apart. The Bryn Grong are better at darts, and the Repa Krum are louder and more boisterous.

THE SIGN OF THE HUMAN HANDGUN:

The sign of the Human Handgun (Umgi Thrund) is a tavern which caters to Dwarven Marksmen and hunters. In times of trouble, they march forth under the tavern’s sign, an Imperial handgun, the shoddiness of which causes the Thunderers much merriment.

THE SIGN OF THE CLOVEN ANVIL:

The sign of the Cloven Anvil (Drung Grong) tavern is reserved for the retainers and bodyguards of the Ironfoundersson clan. It is here that Snorri Ironfoundersson’s personal bodyguard of Hammerers drink. When their lord marches to battle, these mighty warriors accompany him under their tavern’s sign—a split anvil.

THE VOICE OF GRMINIR:

Numerous engineers are employed by Ironfoundersson’s brewery to build and maintain the mighty brewing machinery. These engineers have not lost sight of their guild’s many achievements in the arts of war however, and spend much of their spare time designing and constructing mighty machineries of destruction. The Voice of Grimnir, a canon of great age and veneration has protected the gates of the brewery for centuries.

THE NEW-FANGLED CONTRAPTION:

The younger engineers at the Brewery have recently completed an Organ gun. The weapon is viewed with great suspicion by the elder engineers, who refer to it as ‘That new-fangled contraption’, as the weapon is not yet even 75 years old.

THE PLUMBIUM ALBATROSS:

Built by Barak the Bird-brained, this mighty airship incorporates all of the latest thinking from the greatest minds of the engineer's guild. Powered by a Skalfsen patter triple-expansion alcohol powered steam engine, propelled by a Lunkagrun type air screw, and born aloft by a gaseous mixture of Barak's own creation, it is truly a sight to behold. Barak names his creation the Golden Eagle. The elder engineers of the clan look upon it with great suspicion and refuse to see any merit in it. It is these venerable endrinkulis who have given it the name which stuck: Plumbium Albatross.

And here ends my chronical of Ironfoundersson's Brewers. There are many more wondrous creations and regiments which fight to protect that great Valdahaz, but at the present time human scholars have not been privileged to learn more about them.

Your Humble Servant;

Otto Von Puddinschkreiger.
