Axeremastered (Rants, complaints and general bitching- make sure it's good humoured)
I just want to point out that with my record (0-20, 20-0, 20-0, 20-0, 0-20, 1-19), I can safely say that tactical prowess did not affect the outcome of any of my game sin the slightest (I'm taking a little poetic liscence here). It was all about dice being fickle.
I just wanted one game that didn't look like the me or my oppontent were playing with a halfling bloodbowl team without treemen (so yes, by this I mean a dozen halflings up against a full fantasy army).Â
It was not really much fun to dish out or receive a massacre. Obviously people don't like losing, but when you have to watch your opponent roll yet another handful of 1s and 2s, you start to cringe. I know I did- It made me feel very mean.
But thankyou to all my oppoents, great sports were you all. I appologise for either trouncing you or not presenting you with a battle worth fighting. It wasn't my fault, it was those spotted cubes' fault, honest!
Like me, I feel that you
Like me, I feel that you should invest in chocolate dice. If all else fails, you can atleast eat them. They are readily available from Prahan Market.
Be ye warned...
Any chocolate dice to be used will be rigorously tested for consistent rolling and taste prior to gaming...
Snake eyeeees!
Insane Courage? Bah! The only time I managed to roll double 1s on 2d6 was when rolling to wound a chariot with two S7 hits. (Admittedly I was playing Vampire Counts and as such probably took a grand total of 5 Break tests in 6 games, but hey.)
Apart from that, a lot of the stuff that went wrong was due to me making some pretty inane mistakes, so I can't really complain. More sleep and/or more caffeine next time...
rant and ramble
so, i cant really say that i had terrible luck, but nor did i have fantastic.... playin gobbos you should expect things to go wrong exactly at the wrong moment.. and that usually happend..
seting up flank charges with 2 units just to be sure ill get one in? thats when they BOTH suffer animosity wich costs me a full unit of 30 and a shaman to the combat...Â
guessing both my stone throwers onto the middle of a khorn warrior unit? only to have them both misfire destroying one and having the other kill a crewman and be out of action for 2 turns? yup..
having a giant do like 8 wounds to another giant killing him.. only to have that other giant fall onto my giant killing my giant.. yup..
having my fanatics kill more of my own stuff in the majority of games is a given.. mind you in one game a single fanatic hit a unit of dark elf cold one knights.. passing through them killing 3 only to panic them.. they run through it agian kiling another 3 and then in my turn the same fanatic going through them AGAIN to kill another 3... that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside =)
also having my squigs be charged by a scarey deamon thing with wings.. only to do 2 2 wounds and win 4 succesive combat phases was alot of fun =)
Hmmm
I'd like to question how Noaksey won the Sportsman award whilst scoring less than many in sports scores...
Nah, I'm not really upset by it, that would just be petty. No, judging from what I saw, Noaksey definately had the most fun out of anyone I saw (except maybe aaron and his dwarf friend), and sports award is basicalyl to the person who had the most fun with his opponents. My games all ended really quickly (another rant?), so I had time to go and watch the zaney action at noaksey's table. I also convinced him and Jules to play another turn, thus cementing noaksey's loss. Sorry man.
Bah, the realy question is: who was the person who docked noaksey a point!? And for what?
Well done dude.
cheers
thanks man!, but im so sure on theprint out sunday night that it said 30... so im thinkin it was either wrong there or wrong here.. hopefully here! hehe otherwise.... i wanna know who docked me and why!..fuckers... ill hunt them down.. teach them to fuck with me... =) nah i had fun with evyerone.. i even let ppl know when i was cheating!
Scoring
The sportsmanship award was done entirely on the voting for the best sportsman. The category shown in the scores on the front page is purely for the questionnaires everyone filled out each game. Those had no bearing on the award, but went towards the overall placings. The same goes for the Best Army, which was done by votes in the Beauty Pageant.
In the interest of protecting the innocent from Noakes, no names will be given in terms of scoring. It's also possible that someone stuffed up with that reversed question at some point. We'll make sure we don't make a mistake like that again next time.
Sorry
Sorry Greg, I realised that the Questionare held no sway over best sport award, I just thought it was funny that he coudl get best sport but still score lower- it would seem unlikely.Â
Oooh, that sneaky reverse question, then someone went round telling people to answer it in reverse. (so reversed reverse).Â
gah!
haha they didnt stuff up on the reverse Q ... my army was clearly built to kill at the expense of a fun game!!! kill EVerything ( of mine) at the expense of a fun game ( for me) hehe nah i had fun
Minor Rant
Bit of a minor Rant for pete.
It's probably fitting htat you acknowledge Steve and The Good Man for actually coming 1st and 2nd in the painting comp. I think it's more important who won rather than who got the voucher. You'd probably have to include the other two equal third people as well. Oh, the complication.
Yay the extra turn
Yay the extra turn !!!!!!
Noakes definately deserved it, he got my vote :) Managing to stay positive in the wave of 6 or 7 fanatics taking themselves or each other out, an exploding doom diver, an exploding rock thrower and a pretty much dead giant first turn... Makes me want to make my own gobbo army ! (succumb to the insanity ;)
Well done to all who played, was great fun, I'm sad I had to leave early day 2 and missed the awards ceremony.
 Jules
PS: Thanks again Noakes for SMSaging me the results :)
