Medusa V big shiny whoop-ass battle of DEATH!

It has been muttered by those who enjoy muttering that in honor of the Medusa V global campaign, we, the nobel society of military simulationists of Hampton should hold a big shiny whoop-ass battle of DEATH!

Suggestions have included the use of a coalition of two or three imperial goon armies versus a similar number of the glroious followers of Chaos and thier pals. The battle would of course be grand in scope, and played over applicably grand ground . A battle report would of course follow.

I would of course be leading my mighty and pseudo-noble nurgle riden regiment, the Chandorax XVI Mechanised Infantry.

Thoughts anyone?

Hell YEAH! Could run over a

Hell YEAH! Could run over a series of 3 games, each game determining the scenario for the next.

What kinda points are we thinking? I can take orks or dark eldar up to 1000 pts, or alpha legion up 1850 or a mix of deathguard and latd over 2000. - all depends on the scenario.

The size of the armies

The size of the armies depends on a few factors.

First - is it a stand alone game? if so, I'd be inclined to go large. If it's part of a tree campaign, more likley to just have it between two 1500 point armies, one player per side.

Second - Number of players. If we have say two generals per side, i'd be saying we go with 1500 point armies, so it'd be 3000 points per side. If we have three armies per side, then 1000 would give the same result, or 1500 for a mamoth 4500 point per side bash.

Lastly of course is time - we've only got a single club day to do it in, so we don't want to go to big :)

Why dont we set up one

Why dont we set up one narrative mission of 3000 pts a side and go from there?

We could do a second narrative where only the survivors of the first battle can be used or something. Chuck in some weird army list restrictions, like marines only being able to stock up on more scouts for the subsequent scenario or something. Sounds pretty fluffy.

Although, i doubt anyone has the models for that :(
